MICREOS is pleased to introduce MEndoB, our lead engineered endolysin and a precision biologic designed to selectively target Staphylococcus aureus.

MEndoB is a recombinant protein with peptidoglycan hydrolase activity, enabling it to enzymatically degrade the bacterial cell wall of specific target pathogens. This mechanism supports rapid, precise activity against staphylococci while avoiding the broad disruption associated with conventional antibiotics.

In collaboration with Prof. Steffi Lehmann from Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and Prof. Dr. med. Annelies Zinkernagel from University Hospital Zurich, MICREOS has demonstrated MEndoB’s ability to eradicate established staphylococcal infections in zebrafish and mouse models.

MEndoB has also shown rapid and sustained activity against staphylococci in human serum, as well as synergistic activity with a range of conventional antibiotic therapies.
